Not Easy, Not Impossible

Some things look impossible until you actually try. That’s how I felt about Scorpion Pose with the wheel. It’s one of those poses that seem way out of reach—until you start putting in the effort. And honestly? It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t that hard either.

I’ve learned something along the way: don’t decrease the goal, increase the effort. That’s exactly what I did.

Scorpion Pose is already intense. Throw in a yoga wheel, and suddenly, balance and control become twice as important. The wheel helps, but it also challenges you in a different way—you have to trust yourself, trust the process, and just go for it. At first, I couldn’t even hold myself up properly, let alone bend into the shape I was aiming for. My arms felt weak, my core wasn’t engaging enough, and my back didn’t seem to want to open the way I needed it to. I tried, failed, tried again, failed some more, and then tried even harder. Eventually, something clicked. My arms stopped shaking so much, my balance improved, and before I knew it, I was holding the pose.

It felt good. Not just because I did it, but because I pushed through. That moment of “wow, I actually did this” is addictive in the best way.

But of course, the journey doesn’t stop there. Now, I’ve set my sights on Chaturanga Dandasana. It looks simple enough, but holding it properly, with full control, is a whole different challenge. No more collapsing into it or rushing through it during vinyasas—this time, I want to get it right. It’s going to take effort, but that’s the whole point.

So here we go again. More work, more progress, and hopefully, another breakthrough soon. What’s your next challenge? Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: just keep going.
