Rearranging My Room, Rearranging My Mind

Mood Rating: 5/10

Description:

I started my day by reading Substack, waking up nearly at noon. Once I was done, I spent three hours rearranging my room—sweeping, moving, pushing, throwing, and wiping. Exhausting, but satisfying. A thought came to mind as I worked, which I later posted on Substack: Rearranging my room feels like rearranging my mind.

I created a cozy creative nook that I love, and now my mini fridge is no longer hidden. I'm considering removing my clothes rack and replacing it with a lazy sofa—but I’ll need to buy one first. Soon.

Between cleaning, I had lunch with my mom while watching a series. After everything was dusted and looking spectacular, I treated myself to some YouTube, watching my favorite creator, Nina Montagne, while finishing yesterday’s nasi lemak with chicken rendang. It was super delicious.

I then spent time blogging, downloading books from Anna’s Archive, and loading them onto my Kindle. Today, I read a lot—The Promising Young Woman by Suzanne Scanlon. I love her writing; it feels relatable, and I highlighted quite a lot.

Later, my mom asked me to cook dinner, and I felt compelled to do so. My brother requested chicken curry, so I made it. I even took a few pictures and videos while cooking—felt like documenting it. I was proud of how it turned out, even though the gravy was a bit thick. But the spices? Spot on.

While waiting for berbuka, I continued reading. After dinner, I kept reading and scrolled Shopee, getting inspired to add a few more things to my room. Then, I showered, watched the first few minutes of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and got ready for bed. My mood was normal.

Oh shit, I forgot to take my pills. I’ll take them now and sleep.

P.S. I was supposed to go hiking with a friend today, but I dreaded finding an excuse to cancel. I didn’t even have a reason—I just really didn’t want to go. Luckily, it rained, and the plan got canceled. Nature was on my side today.
