exhales

its as if 

the wind suddenly stood still

the air no longer moved

moonlight touched 

everything around you

yet instead of feeling harsh

it made time come to rest

like the soft white steam 

drifting 

from a cup of hot tea

like plants 

silently 

soaking in the atmosphere

then slowly 

releasing it back 

for us to breathe

the whole world exhales

and for a moment

nothing asks 

to be different
